Airport Card with Wallstreet II [24 Jul 2008|09:48pm] macintosh [robotech_master] I have an old Wallstreet II powerbook, running OS X 10.2 (that being the last that will run on it since it does not have internal USB). A friend sent me an Airport card for use with it, but I can't find any sort of slot for the card to go in, internal or external (it won't fit into a PCMCIA slot). Am I barking up the wrong tree? Does the Wallstreet II even have an Airport slot? cominiyeha!! 4

XBOX360LJ [24 Jul 2008|06:45pm] xbox_360 [nirvana_is_god] FIRST: STARTING AT 8:30pm EST i know i said it was going to be 8 but i thought i would be able to make it and unfortunately its just not going to happen. i should be walking in the door at 8:30 though and as soon as i grab a beer from the fridge we can start. (there's a chance i could come in earlier and if so we'll start then) SECOND: alright so i re-tallied the votes and were at a tie between halo 3 and Call of duty 4. I have made an executive decision and were going to be playing Halo 3 tonight. The only reason i am choosing this is because there is a lot of flexibility with the games so we can get a little creative with the options. For everyone that refuses to play the HALOZ (comon now it is a GREAT game after all) I promise to redo the Xbox360LJ community night next week (probably around the same time) but spotlighting COD4. THIRD: this is probably the most important and really should be number 1 but whatever! [24 Jul 2008|09:12am] ivehadbetter so....i'm ridiculously nervous about tomorrow. i go in for the procedure tomorrow. getting knocked out and they are bending my knee to a normal degree (aka 120ish). if you aren't aware, my knee is only getting to 75 degrees on its own. my dad is coming over tonight after i get out of PT. we have to be at the hospital by 6:30am. my procedure isn't until 8:30am. they are telling me it should only take an hour. i should be home by about 11:30 maybe 12 at the latest. if they use the same anesthesia as last time, though, i am going to be throwing up for two days. sooooo yeah. i don't know. i'm terrified. cominiyeha!! 1

Weekly To Do list? I've figure out how to make a To Do list in iCal, but I want to be lazy and have it repeat itself, say popping up fresh every Thursday (my only day off) so I remember the things I need to get done around the apartment. Is there a way to have this done, either in iCal or in another application? I'm sort of new to Macs; hadn't used them in over a decade, and recently bought a MBP that I'm still getting to know. cominiyeha!! 6

Mac <3 Epson...Or At Least it Used To [23 Jul 2008|10:51pm] macintosh [faded_mystique] [ mood | annoyed ] Okay, so like I've stated in my last entry here, I'm using a loaner from the school until mine gets repaired. Well, I'm working on a project that I've been commissioned to do, and for it I need my printer to do some color testing. For some reason, when I try to set up my Epson Stylus Photo 1400 on this MacBook Pro, I can't find the right model in the list of models. There's every other Epson printer on the list BUT mine! And I don't understand why I'm having such a hard time with this seeing as MY MacBook Pro had no problem installing the drivers and everything. This has nothing to do with administrative privileges, either, since I was able to install everything. Can someone help me? I'm going nuts over here. EDIT: After another hour of searching (and hair-ripping), I stumbled upon Gutenprint on SourceForge's website. I decided I could try it out since I really need my printer right now. I downloaded it, installed it and I'm happily printing again, though the test page I printed out is a little awkward with the colors. That doesn't matter right now anyway since I'm just going to be printing out a standard black and white image. cominiyeha!! 5

more sd review [23 Jul 2008|05:43pm] brand_new [mebamonke] i won't repeat the setlist from below- but wanted to add the venue was SUPER SMALL- they moved it to the voodoo room- smaller place- i feel like there weren't more than 100 people there- ALso the stage was right there no barrier- I was able to sit on the stage basically since it was a small crowd- Jesse did Q/A it was really aweome - he talked about how the band is together, working on the new album, the lyric book- idea of doing solo work- just a lot of great information and it was great to see Jesse be so talkative- he even explained his feelings on big shows and little shows like this.... also the medly mentioned in review below- was random- nothing planned the guys were joking around started and got really into messing around and kept going- it was great to see them just hanging out and messing around on stage- laughing hysterically- I doubt this is something they would do in future shows.. cominiyeha!! 36

Lagging [23 Jul 2008|06:42pm] macintosh [surlyride] I gots a MacBook, running on Leopard. I'm finding I can't multi task on it like I want. Say I have Gmail and two Firefox windows open. Fine. I can even run iTunes or XM radio, no biggie. But if I try to work on a Word doc while all these things are going, I'll spend half my time watching the rainbow frisbee. so I post late. [23 Jul 2008|09:56am] brand_new [____january] short recap: Download festival was pretty awesome, played the new song and everything, of course I forgot my camera. Loved the Roxy show, Kevin was AMAZING and Jesse was fucking amazing, even though he was getting heckled by members of Brand New during his set, it was cute. Cool thing was after Kevin's set I went outside with my friend and Bayside was out there and we ( well he, because I'm too awkward) talked to Anthony? they're working on a new album and Vin was there and Brand New is working on a new album, he said he felt the band has been off a few shows because they've been working on a new album. I was able to see Kevin too, he was selling merch, he shook my hand and when we left said "goodbye January" and I pretty much spazzed out the whole way home, all in all a great two days <3 cominiyeha!! 10

.avi issues [23 Jul 2008|12:54pm] macintosh [brighteyedcat] [ mood | confused ] Question: a friend of mine burned me a few episodes of a particular tv show onto a disc in .avi format. They playback on my mac at home (MacBook) but there is no sound. I tried to play this same disc on my PC at work and it works fine w/ sound and everything. What the hell? Also, a while back I asked about an audio cd i burned using my mac that would play in my PC computer at work and in my cd player at home, but would not play in my car. I tried all the suggestions people offered (changing the burn speed) and that didn't work. Any other ideas on this? cominiyeha!! 8

[23 Jul 2008|09:30am] chelsmcgrels So a lot has been going on lately. For instance: Im moving out on my own into a 1 bdrm apt. Alex and I are taking time apart. I think thats best right now. Also, I may be getting a new car pretty soon. Mine is falling apart inch by inch. I will be making more money soon. Due to the growing rate of needs for a babysitter from parents at the gym i coach at. So at least I already know these kids and it will be easy.
